The Blue Ridge Women’s Center in Roanoke provides support and services to women facing unexpected pregnancies by performing free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and supportive counseling. 80% of women who see their baby on an ultrasound generally do not choose abortion. The Center provides alternatives to abortion including, but not limited to, parenting classes, making referrals as needed, offering a clothing shop with new and like-new baby clothes, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a hands-on ministry with counselors who come alongside women and care for both mothers and babies. All of their services are provided free of charge to clients so the Center depends on donations from the community. Their biggest fundraiser is the Banquet, “A Night of Life,” coming up on Tuesday, September 26, at Hotel Roanoke. Doors open at 6:00 and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Guests enjoy dinner prepared by the hotel, good fellowship, and hear speakers discussing the current environment for unborn babies and mothers as well as plans for the future. BRWC has some exciting announcements to make!
